About 1935 General Electric purchased half interest in Telechron. GE wanted to change the company name to General Electric but Telechron wanted to keep the Telechron name. So General introduced this little Telechron clock in the form of a General Electric refrigerator bearing the General Electric name on a Telechron Electric Clock. So for at least one electric clock the name was changed to GE.
